This is my character for the club/contest

General
Name: Alexander Halo
Age: 10
Height: 4'9
Weight: 80 Lbs
History
Alex was on a search for his brother. During the quest, he stumbled upon a dusty old hat. When he approached the hat, it spoke. The hat agreed to help Alex under the condition that he didn't tell people about what he has seen. The two set out on their mission: to seek out Alex's brother, and to simply survive. Life wasn't easy; Alex's was abused by his uncle as a child, and the wider world was little more forgiving.
Personality
Alex is shy around new faces. He fights for others when they are in trouble and he cares for animals sometimes. He's quick on his feet, and can be helpful in fights. He can be difficult to understand at times, but does his best to get things across. Alex fights to get stronger than his brother and his cousin, Chris and Constintine, but hasn't managed to so. He holds much respect for both of them.
The hat was once a powerful and ruthless mage, sealed in his current form as punishment for wicked deed. As a wizard, he was a devious and strange figure with a long history of combat; but he grew weary of his old way of life. His time with Alex had a gradual but profound impact. He tries not to remember the things he's done, and wants now to help Alex. On occasion, he'll possess Alex to assist him in fights.
Abilities
The hat has a number of lingering magical abilities, ranging from light and shadow attacks to healing and shielding.
In addition to the hat, Alex carries an amulet he received from his brother and cousin when he was five. It has some magical qualities of its own, namely, granting Alex light and shadow abilities. At its most intense, the light can manifest into an ethereal phoenix around him. The amulet seems to have a connection to the hat, and may have been what drew Alex and the Hat together.
